This natural boulder opal comes in at over 24 carats and is a gorgeous lilac with swirls of blue. I knew I had to pair it with these luminous faceted nugget of lavender quartz. I've wrapped the opal in 22k gold and set it on two layers of silver flower petals and added gold dots to surround the stone. Dramatic faceted marquise drops of chrysocolla swing along the outer edge of the silver flower.
The floral "shield" suspends from a strand of lavender quartz interspersed with arizona turquoise on 14k pins. Along the strand is a surprise "bead" of lavender or Kazakhstan turquoise wrapped in 22k on a base of silver.
The necklace adjusts from 16 to 18 inches. The shield measures 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches.
