Combining opals and dendritic agate is a favorite of mine. I began with six agates with a variety of patterning and decided to add a boulder opal with various blues, green and gold shades. I linked them simply and added subtle clusters of rondelle beads between--imperial topaz, welo opal, turquoise and chrysoprase.
Next I fused sprouts in a marquise shaped element that mimics some of the dendritic growth patterns in oxidized silver.
The chain's length is continued with links of stacked turquoise beads. A hook clasp and extender chain adjust the length from 16 to 18 inches.
This necklace sits best just below the collarbone.
