An astounding boulder opal (90+ carats) is simply set with fine and argentium sterling silver. I set out to fabricate a substantial bail that would be up to the task of suspending this amazing opal with 3/8 "wide brushed argentium silver.
A dramatic and colorful gemstone rope of larger strung stones as well as smaller gemstone beads wrapped with silver pins represents hours of intensive detail work that proved more than worth the time. .
Stones in the rope: amethyst, brandy citrine, kunzite, blue lace agate, rhodolite garnet, mandarin garnet, chalcedony and tanzanite.
The pendant measures 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. The gemstone rope measures 18 inches with a hook clasp that extends to 20 inches with the extender chain.
