In the past I've made rings with a single vine-wrapped stone and I've long wanted to create a grouping of stones with vines leaping from one to the other. Several weeks ago I pulled out my sketchbook and gathered these blues and greens and set to work.
I've combined lapis lazuli, amazonite, malachite, turquoise, chrysoprase and a dendritic agate. The stones are arranged as if radiating out from a central arc and the leafy vines are interspersed and wrap around each stone. Once the silver vines are oxidized to deep black the contrast against the brightly colored stones is dramatic. Clustered between stones are faceted lapis and arizona turquoise beads on silver pins. Dangling below are five brown tourmalines.
The chain adjusts from 18 to 20 inches.
